Including a NuGet package in your project NuGet in Visual Studio for Mac. To demonstrate the NuGet package functionality we'll first walk. Create a new project. First, create a project named HelloNuget as illustrated below. Adding a Package. With the project open in Visual Studio for Mac.. NuGet Package Source in Visual Studio 2017. To add a new source, our local source, click on the green plus icon in the top-right. Now a new entry will appear under the nuget.org source. Specify a name and the source at the bottom of the screen.
I've seen this issue on two projects now. Repro Steps: 1. In VS Windows, add some NuGet packages to your Xamarin project.
I haven't tried other project types. Commit and push those changes. In VS Mac, pull the updated solution. VS Mac doesn't show the added NuGet packages and won't build.
Refreshing the dependencies by right-clicking the Dependencies NuGet folder doesn't work. To fix: Quit VS Mac and reload the solution. The NuGet packages will now show in the project dependencies. Please fix?:) VS Mac v7.5.1 Build 22. Thank you for your feedback! For us to investigate this further: For step 3) 'In VS Mac, pull the updated solution' - how are you pulling the changes? Using the integrated version control support in VS Mac or running a git command line.
If it is a git command line which command line specifically (just 'git pull some-branch')? By refresh dependencies I am assuming you are running a restore. If that is not working then it seems that the project file change (.csproj) is not being detected so it is not being reloaded. We look forward to hearing from you!

I'm playing around with a ASPNet.Core 1.1.0 application in Visual Studio Mac Preview and have problems updating/installing NuGet packages. If I try to update eg. Microsoft.AspNetCore.Diagnostics from 1.0.0 to 1.1.0 it fails the download and removed the package completely. I then have to download and install the package for 1.0.0 again.
Same goes for Microsoft.AspNetCore.Server.Kestrel. Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore I'm not able to install in any version. Heres the exception output: I know everything is right out of the oven, but was wondering if other people have experienced the same issues and know of a workaround/solution. For everyone else having similar problems, here's a walk-through:. First install.NET Core 1.1.0:. The official.NET Core 1.1.0 installer (as of when this is written) includes the.NET Core SDK 1.0.0 Preview 2.
You will need.NET Core SDK 1.0.0 Preview 3. Download it here:. Create a new project in Visual Studio Mac. Close the project. Open up project/src/myapp/myapp.csproj and change 'netcoreapp1.0' to 'netcoreapp1.1'.
Save and close the file. Netcoreapp1.1. Open your solution in Visual Studio Mac and compile it. Now you will be able to update your NuGet packages to newest versions. Should you run into problems, do a 'dotnet restore' when standing in /project/src/myapp/. Try to change.csproject file manually to netcoreapp1.1 UPDATE @egeek So, finally, I think I found some trick.
I tried to add Swashbuckle Nuget package, but it failed. Then, when Visual Studio start to adding Swashbuckle, I click Forece Quit from Visual studio before the operation is complete. In.csproj I see: 6.0.0-beta902 And when I again open Visual studio, click 'Restore' on 'Packages' folder. Finally it not fail and added Swashbuckle correctly.
